Date/time metadata must contain a complete ISO calendar date, optionally followed by a time with minutes, seconds, and up to seven fractional second digits. Explicit Z or +/-HH:mm zones normalize to UTC; unzoned values retain their wall-clock time. Invalid metadata falls back to visible text with a diagnostic.
